What Can You Do With a Communications Degree? Engage, Connect, Collaborate

To communicate effectively and succeed in the workplace, you must be an exceptional writer, speaker and listener. These skills are the pillars of мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±â€™s Department of Communication. They’re also at the heart of our programs, from our public relations degree concentration to film/video arts production to communication and media studies.

So, what is communications all about at мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±? Our communication and media studies programs enable students to gain real-world experience, such as producing media on-location and in мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±â€™s TV studio, or working in our department’s public relations agency.

Our comprehensive communication degree programs will help you develop valuable experience in communications to pursue several career and graduate school pathways. You’ll also:

  • Learn from internationally known researchers and practitioners. Whether you’re earning a degree in public relations, film and video arts production or another communication degree, your education is in expert hands.
  • Build a foundation in the liberal arts. From our public relations degree concentration to communication and media studies, our programs will give you a well-rounded education and help you develop public speaking, writing, critical thinking and other communication skills.
  • Gain hands-on experience. While working toward your communications degree or a minor, you’ll have experiential learning opportunities from internships to TV studio work.
