Unless an individual's international phone is set to be used internationally here in the United States, they may think of getting another domestic phone plan or a Wi-Fi router to carry around with them. If an individual does not wish to buy another cell phone, they can use their Wi-Fi router to communicate through various apps.
Most major domestic carriers offer cell phone plans and prepaid phones. All can be purchased at the carrier's retail location or at other retailers (Walmart, Target, BestBuy, etc.). Prepaid phones are recommended for short term students because they do not require a contract/plan.
